Acer Laptop Display Problem

Just wondering if anyone could possibly shed some light on why my Acer 7540's LCD has recently developed a problem.

It seems to be a physical problem as when I adjust or tilt the screen it distorts the picture to look like below.

When the problem occurs if i twist the left side of the screen it can temporarily get rid of the lines although they can just instantly reappear when pressure is released. It seems to be worse along the left of the screen and improves by the time the right hand side of the screen is reached.

I did take the covers off and check for any loose fixings and tightened one or two screws that I could. Everything seems ok though.

I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Just buy a new computer... Imo Acer sucks, they make cheap products, both in terms of price and quality. My Aspire 6930g is nothing but trouble including overheating issues, they do not allow me to remove the cpu cooler so i can clean it and reapply the TIM

Ugh I have to save for college so and after that a car is preference so a new lappy is not really on the cards. what a pain in the ass.

I was hoping there was something that was causing the problem and once I sorted this, id would return to normal. wether physical adjustment or replacement of a minor part..

If the images changes like in the second pic the vertical lines aint there, Could indicate a bad cable or connection, remover the power button bezel and keyboard and see if there is any noticable problem?

It is when the screen is moved so I would suspect a problem there and not under the keyboard?... anyway I'll have a look when I get a chance. cheers

Well it could be a tight cable with a dodgy connection, but that usually causes the entire screen to go white (or blacK)

most likely indicates a dodgy connection. remove the plastic fascia surrounding the keyboard and look at the wire connection round one of the hinges of the laptop that leads to the screen, and around the left side of the actual laptop screen, bet a solder has become brittle or has snapped. ( well i hope so as thats cheap to sort
