Display Cutting Out

I've had my Sapphire Vapor-X 280X since December without any issues. Yesterday, however, when browsing the internet, both my displays (primary and secondary) 'cut-off' and displayed the 'no signal' message.

At first I shrugged this off and did a reboot, only to find that after working perfectly for 20 minutes, the same thing happened.

When this occurs, the PC appears to still be running (e.g. all fans spinning, LED's on keyboard and mouse active etc...)

After searching online, this problem generally seems to be a driver issue. I attempted to boot into safe mode using my windows 8 installation disk, yet after about 2 minutes of following on-screen prompts, both displays cut-out again.

This leads me to believe that I have a hardware issue. I am reluctant to send the card back for a replacement, as I don't want the hassle of shipping and system down-time.

Have any of you guys suffered similar fates? This is REALLY annoying and renders my PC effectively useless.

The only thing I have yet to attempt is to remove the GPU and run on on-board graphics.

I need to be 100% sure its the GPU before sending it back :(

My secondary monitor is using a DVI to HDMI cable. The problem is, my main monitor (an Asus MX239H) only supports HDMI and VGA inputs.

I haven't owned a VGA cable in years.

I have tried a different HDMI in my primary monitor, but that had no effect.

Edit: My secondary monitor is an LG TV (I don't know the model number, but its from around 2009)

I'm 99% sure its the GPU now.

To test the issue, I idled the PC in the BIOS and (to my *great* surprise) the same thing happened yet again.

I'll take the card out tomorrow and test the onboard graphics.

Anyone know how strict the Overclockers return policy is?

I've had a quick look and I need to be certain its the GPU before sending it back (apparently it would be tested their end).
