acer 2k4k XB280HK or Asus Swift

What are these "reasonable" settings ?

No antialiasing, not very high detail settings but may be high or medium detail settings and so on.

They are may be reasonable to you but not for everyone else.

Your knowledge on resolutions is clearly lacking, if you do your research you will realise 4k is 4 time the pixel count of 1080p meaning AA is pretty much redundant especially on a 28" screen where the pixel count is very tightly compacted.

Then there's the settings, now medium or high settings at 4k look just as good as ultra at 1080p just because of the pure clarity of the picture.

Also do you even own a single or pair of 970's?

If you did you would know that performance wise they pack a punch and overclock with ease to speeds beyond the Gtx980 and even when not overclocking display performance close to the gtx 780ti.

My suggestion would be try 4k on a pair of 970's (which are actually advertised as the sweet spot for 4k gaming)and then comment!!

That's what I did to run AC: Black Flag on my GTX 760 @ 4K

You may think it's not reasonable, but it looks a lot better than it would at 1080p with high settings, IMO.
