DISTRIBUTORS WILL start offering several SKUs (stock keeping units) of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 on the 7th of June, it has transpired. The 64 X2 is the dual core desktop version of AMD's Athlon 64 processor and we know that at least one distributor - Tech Data - will offer the chips on that date.
So we'd expect other AMD distributors to follow suit, or rather release chips in parallel, so to speak.
The SKUs are the 4200+, a 2.2GHz 939 part with 512K of cache; the 4400+ 2.2GHz part with 1MB of cache; the 4600+, a 2.4GHz baby with 512K of cache; and lastly on the listly the 4800+, a 2.4GHz with 1MB of cache.
looks like Intels Drm trap <Pentium D> may have no market when its released on the 22nd June due to the lack of range, Hgh power requirements and paladium DRM On by default ..
