Right. Does a 1X PCIE mini slot card work in a full PCIE slot?

After spending a while looking at the two it looks like the 1X card would happily slot into the first portion of a full blown PCIE socket.

Does this mean you could put one in there?

I've looked around for the answer but nothing.

looks like it IS compatible but you still have to be carefull. OFC the speed you will get is 1x and not 16x

The hilarity is that the user in the hardforum thread has the same motherboard as me.

Cheers for that. I wasn't expecting to get 16x speed from a 1x card, just wondering if it was physically possible.

Yeah, a x1 card works in any PCI-E slot. I'm using a 1x audio card (Asus Xonar Essence STX) at the moment and it's in a normal x16 slot. You'll be fine.
