Heey overclock 3D, I didn't sell my i7 920 in the end so im useing for my media centre intill i can afford a i5 2500k to save money on the electric.

I need a cooler that is quiet and keeps things cool.. what would you guys recomend? also is there any good onse for a ATI 5850? I was looking at the Prolimatech MK-13.

Thanks in advance for your help

What size restraints do you have?

NH-D14 / Silver Arrow I believe are the obvious choices, they also use 140mm fans which are a tad quieter while pushing more air.

But, they are freaking monstrous in size.

I quite liked my CM Hyper 212+. It was inexpensive, quiet, and handled the heat very well.

Just looked at the Venom, very similar to the 212+ but a tad nicer. That seems like a really nice heatsink. Why do you want to get rid of it?

I have custom heatsincs on the ram that are high up so it cant go over the ram (I changed because the onse the ram came with was falling off) The venom is good, maybe i should try it with one fan or none and see what the noise and temp is like, or get a D14 for my 2600k and put the H60 on the 920.. do you know of any good quiet fans? I need something quiet as it will be on 24/7 and it's in my bedroom.. I'm going to buy a Fractal Design Define XL or a Fractal Design Define R3 to help lower the noise (need a big case as going to be putting a load of drives in there)

and thanks for the helpfull responce

Check these out... Super quiet and super high static pressure with the wind tunnel technology. CocaCola just told me about these, they look WICKED.

Note that they aren't designed to be used as HSF fans, rather intake fans, but any time you get this much directed air I don't see how this wouldn't make a nice quite fan for a heatsink.
