a possible new rig

mmmk i was buying some parts for a friend and saw summit i hadda buy that was very cheap ...

an A64 DTR 3400+

my plan is this use my old mobo/proccy for a media PC and just put this in my main rig ;

thing is im on a hell of a budget and need to get a decent clockers mobo for this rig

ima thinkin EPOx or DFI .. but Gigabyte KN8S and MSI KN8 neos are DIRT cheap on ebay watta u guys think

dfi = 3.1v stock vdimm

modded bios & a psu with adjustable pots, ocz powerstreams...(up to) 4v vdimm

nForce 3 250Gb (DFI LanParty UT)

same board i have, and I've used these modded bios'.

they work great.

Yeah the DFI 250gb is a great board. I would recommend it

since its a dtr procie , i would recommend getting the swiftech mcx6400V or the MCX64 hsf for it. It lets you screw it down on the procie but u need longer bolts since dfi has a different backplate than other mobos.

But DFI would get my vote with maybe an ocz powerstream 420 watts ( since u dont need the extra power of 520watts )

and for the H/S .. well my thinkin is its an exposed die proccy and a good cooler for such a device is an si-97 .. im gonna mod up a retention system for my current 1

im-a thinkin DFI UT 250 .. i always had done but i thout there may have been betta 754 borads released since then

as far as mem tweaks go JOe, im afraid there isnt. also with custom bios for BH5 its a no brainer.
