Hi people i have just got hold my girlfriends old dell inspiron 1100 case on which i am doing a complete re-build, only to find when i installed my Gigabyte ga-73vm-s2 Matx mobo the power cables for the pwr, reset and reset switches were too short by about an inch. They are also a funny shape see below for reference pic

Im hoping to find an extension cable for this type of connection so that my new hard ware can work fine, does any-one know if this type of extension cable exists?

All helpand links will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Aye sure does 5 pin and four pin .

Mind you firewire and com uses similar configuration.

where do the cables run to mate?

Worse comes to forse hack the cables up and either take a bit out the blue one so it plugs in, and extend the power/reset etc.

Be careful, stick a firewire in USB, or vice versa, and you really start screwing stuff up.

that blue connection looks just like an internal usb cable to me mate?

Its the power, reset and hd activity light all packed into one usb style connection. Thats the puzzling part really all my other cases have them separate. There again it is a dell case! lol:p

The cables run to the power reset and hard disk activity ports on the motherboard.

I dont really want to hack any cables to be honest as ive never done it and its my girlfriends case! but if worst comes to worst could i get away with wiring my own power reset and activity led's?
