A little different way to set up your 3 monitors.

Game Over

just came across this by accident, would not have thought to set the monitors up this way but I can see how that may appeal to some.

People have been doing this for years, but here is a 24" monitor that can change orientation with out needing any thing extra to do it.

Why would you do it that way though, you may as well just get one big HDTV or Monitor.

I really like the Idea of multiple monitors for the wrap around feel, but I am too distracted by the edge frame of the monitors. I would have to wait till they come out with edgeless monitors, Which I thing I just seen an add for one like that or very close to now frame edge just recently.

Now if I was playing a flight simulator and the frame edges matched up with the window frames on the aircraft in the cockpit, I can deal with that.

I think I will just wait 5 or 10 years till the price on the type of monitor below becomes reasonable.

Not really ideal for FPS, more for work with multiple documents.

With FPS you want to be seeing as much around you as possible, which favours the landscape style of setup.

Unless your one of those gamers who likes to admire the sky

Because hdtvs and monitors dont run at 3240x1920 :-)

Yep, but having the screens in portrait like that adds up to one big screen and for gaming or films the bigger vertical res isn't really useful unless like Ya93sin said you like to admire the sky.

With three monitors in landscape it gives you full Peripheral vision and widens the FOV.

I think it depends on what type of games you play. I've wanted this setup for awhile.

Can see why people think this would be pointless for racing games and FPS but I personally love mmorpgs and I think this setup would rock on a game like LotRo when your panned out and there is lots of action and/or detail to be seen.

IMO that's just wasting money unless you are working with documents. He may as well get six and do this:

1-2-3

4-5-6

2x3.
