Be interested if an FSX anorak could say whether 8g would be a benefit.

Seeing as it was a new build, it's a cheap performance boost if it would use it. Perhaps even not performance, but extra things u can do with the game cos of having it.

I've never really seen overall memory utilisation peak much over 3GB (including background apps/OS) with FSX so as such 8GB isn't really a necessity. Once people start using really heavy addons such as aftermarket airport scenery, aircraft and weather however, it's likely to comfortably push over 4GB. With that in mind, perhaps 8GB isn't such a bad idea but it'd be overkill to some extent.

Thankyou for popping those specs together. I'm in the process of trying to flog my main PC, which tbh is quite hard & i'm thinking of stripping it down and selling it bit by bit.

Sorry I haven't replied; purely because I forgot about it..

Anyway, some of what you peeps have put together seem good, though I wouldn't be able to say whether or not they are good, hence you guys make the selection as you know what you are on about.

Still looking for a good rig, something with a bit of meat within 5 to 700 pounds
