A build to replace "taken"

Hi,
I'm going to build a new rig to replace my "taken" rig (i posted on other section).
below are the spec that the dealer recommend for me for about euro900:

i5 3570K
ASRock Z77 Pro-M
1 x 8GB G.Skill Value Ram
Phanteks TC14PE Black
120GB Intel 520 series SSD
Rosewill Hive 650M
Palit GTX670 Jetstream
Silverstone TJ08E

For me, it is like a good deal.
any comments and suggestions are welcome.
my budget is euro1000 (max, possible with monitor).

Samsung 840 120GB ssd = about half the price of the intel 520, and just as good if not better.

CPu is good, motherboard is not so good.

RAM: What speed? how much cost? Try the G.Skill Ares not the value ram.
Case: looks not so good to me.

All-in-all I would say this guy is trying to flog bits off on you that no one else wants to buy. Ask yourself why no one else wants to buy them.

I also think he is ripping you off in a huge way. The only two parts I see truly worthy of the purchase is the CPU and GPU, but there are probably better 670's out there. The rest looks like junk, but thats just my opinion.

Mate, if you dont have a screwdriver, buy one. Then buy the parts you want and put the rig together yourself so that you dont have to pay a $250 euro builders fee, which has already been added to the price of the rig. That $250 could go on higher quality parts, like case, psu, and ram.

I reckon this dude is screwing you.

Edit: RAM is freaking cheap right now. $100 will get you 2x8GB @1866

Hes trying to flog off a mATX case AND mobo. Get a real case. That way when you get angry with this junk at least youll have a case you can put a regular ATX mobo into and wont have to purchase yet another case.

Better yet, start with finding another retailer.

hahaha... not offence, not meant to be rude... i know the dealer, at least he is one of the most honest and knowlegdable in this field...and the price can be said the lowest as he is the distributor for those items. this bundle was built about 2 weeks ago.. btw, i also dont like mATX and the case.

My planned spec for new rid as below:

i drop these as the price is over my budget.

CM GX 750 (changed to Corsair AX850)
CM Hype212Plus (changed to XSPC Raystorm D5 240 Kit)
Kingston HyperX 2x4GB
ASUS Xonar DX2.

AND it is taken during Christmas. T.T
i was ASUS fanboy, now wish to change and try other brand.
any suggestions?

I reckon youll be extremely happy with the 3570k and MPower mainboard you could go to a slighly smaller psu like the AX760i and save a few bucks.

Also, you might want to look into the Samsung 840 + 840 Pro SSD's as they are less expensive than the Intel 520's and are amongst the most reliable on the market.

Other than that, it's a nice looking plan and I reckon youll be fragging to your hearts content

just too bad that the price is over my budget... this one should cost about euro1K and still not included the monitor and other peripherals...
maybe should start to more job and more saving...
and no worry i will put all the pieces by myself (not like other ppl to touch it).

ps: going to move to other place this weekend. hope the new housemate is a better guy...

one more question: how much difference between MPower and GD65 in term of perfomance and price...

in Australian Dollars, the cheapest I've seen the GD65 go for is $179, but most places sell it for $199. The cheapest Ive seen the MPower is $199, but most places sell it for $229. MPower comes with Wifi, and has more USB 3.0 ports but 2 fewer sata ports, whereas the GD65 has 8 sata ports and no wifi. I already own a wifi dongle which I dont use so for me the GD65 made more sense.

a couple of shaving budget tips:
case is monsterously high in price (new to market) look into a 810 or trroper/styker
even the arc midi can house your goods with half the cost.

SSD samsung or crucial for cost
the corsair HX series is lower cost, uses the usable cables and modular accessories.

the MSI boards are great cost conscience boards. and you buy what features you need.

as for the SSD, need to search for samsung and crucial... a few months ago still have crucial... but now seem like disappear..
i thought HX is non-modular... it is a semi modualr...

and I notice there are 2 competitions: one is the custom corsair christmas and the other is to win a MSI 7770. Through the later competition, i can build a 750Euro rig. i take it as a practice. :^_^:

the G45 is a good entry level board, but we are looking for a bit better. so the
GD55/65 usually get a nodd.

find the best price on the 830/840 in the capacity you need.

how many GPU cards? dual gtx 680 only needs 650watts with a loaded system.
ax650/hx650 will be enough..

toms review stated, if the 820 was a lil reachy in price, the 810 is still a
great case.. personally, i dont like all that plastic fascia and wasted space.
the trooper/styker is better, but pricing is nuts, too. my arc midi does
me fine and with upgrades a 360/240 fatty rads and room/money to boot.

difference is $80 for my 3GB card and the 2GB 670. slower mem clock, but
i do not game, so its not a concern. same CUDA count, just slow trans rate.
and in SLI.. thats monster bucks. when they get cooled, i just use a 670 block.

honestly, i also dont like plastic especially 1st time saw 810.
my all time favorite case are tropper, cosmos 2 and phantom (as its sleek design). Tropper cheaper than cosmos2 and 820 roughly 35% and about same price with 810.
i like both CoolerMaster case because of they have handles (i shift around).
PCB of 660ti same with 670 PCB design?
i was thinking of palit 670 ref as maybe one day i want watercool my GPU.

Take a look at the Corsair C70 Vengeance case as its $50 less than the NZXT 810 and is $100 less than the 820. it also has handles for those who like to shift around

The C70 is also set up for water cooling. You can put a 240mm rad in top bottom or front.

yes. Corsair C70 also in my list when they released. however the price was very expensive for mid tower case.
now the price is almost same with CM Storm Trooper.
considering trooper and c70... which one better....

Depends on your needs, Trooper is a full tower and takes up a lot of space. Also, it has no window and regular ATX boards without watercooling would look funny in that enormous case.

If that didn't help; Pick whichever you think looks best

I don't think either cases fit a 360 Rad out of the box, though both can easily hold 2x240mm and you can even add a 120mm if you really want to.

I think aircooling doesn't matter much, they would both do fine imo and with your budget I'm assuming that you're going to stick to aircooling at first anyway?

If you do shift around a lot; the Trooper is huge and quite heavy, I'd recommend the C70 in that case (no pun intended). Also, moving a lot with a computer that has watercooling might not be the best idea IMHO

In Melbourne the C70 is about the same price as the Trooper, costing only $8 less. The Stryker is more than $30 more than the Trooper. I just like the C70 more, all the way around. I like its window, dust filters, removable HDD trays, carry handles, and the fact that its set up to take a 240mm rad in front, top, or bottom, though i would probably only use the top. At least it's got plenty of options.
