A belated Hello

Hey there guys&girls

It's very nice to meet such a warm group of people who are happy to help out.

I'm really not a PC person, well I never used to be. That was till in early 2008 I was crushed by a large (14tonne+) truck. Needless to say, it hurt!! So life has changed a lot. I bought a good laptop while I was in hospital (6+months) and got hooked on WoW (6 lvl 80s later) I quit when I started walking again. So now I'm back on my feet but still having loads of operations (46+opps, over 300hrs in surgery so far) to try fix the rest of me.

That's how I got into the computer scene. So if I ask any stupid questions please bare with me. I blame the meds and the sleep depravation.

So I have been thinking of starting to study. I'd like a good grounding course in all aspects of computers. From building to software. Maybe even some programe/web design. Could anybody in the know recommend any good courses??

Thanks

Ron

Its nice to see you. I'm sorry to hear about that accident. Must be hard going through all that. I used to be a WoW player myself, sold my account recently. You're in good company!

I've been thinking I should sell it. Where would I start?? My partner also played when age had time, she had a lvl 80 Warr (vgood gear) and a 80 Shammy (averagely bad gear) We could use any cash we could get for the wedding in Aug

About the accident, well life does go on, slowly maybe, but it goes on. That's why I'm looking to study. Need to get a job(when I get fit/fired from the one I got hurt doing) that doesn't require much physical effort.

You'd be suprised how much you can get for a few ICC geared toons. I had an 80 Pally, 80 Dk, 80 warr all ICC 10/25 gear mostly. Sold account to a website (I was quitting anyway) got about $275 so who says playing was a waste of time? lol if you want the website I can give ya that too. As far as schooling, what are you looking to do? Are you wanting to get into a degree program/certification? Or maybe go to a vocational tech school (ITT tech) which I probably wouldn't recommend the latter. I have schooling in a completely unrelated field. I am PPG/Dupont certified auto painter, but I got laid off in 2008. So I hear ya

Wow that really isn't bad money

As far as studying, I can't afford to earn nothing/go to uni&dodge taxes. So I'll have to try get something where I can work and study. At the moment I manage 1 4hour day a week before I can't bare the pain anymore. (nerve damage is a bitch) I will get better, the rest of the time is a pain management lifestyle. Do nothing for more than 20consecutive mins without having to change to avoid serious pain increases. Without my missus I'd be in a very bad way. But hey, so any studies would need to give me a good grounding in general pc stuff. I have an ECDL lol(it's a start)

I can't believe Mesh Still hasn't delivered my pc ;( they assured me when I paid that it'd be here by the 20th Dec. Called on the 23rd they said 24th, called on 30th said 31st now they say "sometime in the next week" GRRRRRRRRRRR It's a pity too, they were so good with my last one.

Chat soon bud
