9800GX2 vs HD3870X2 full review!

hmm not bad but as I said in another thread I think ATI has the better design concept at least with them you can have a single slot solution when water cooling and uses less power which is nice our power bill is high enough lol.

I agree with that, single card design uses less materials, where both cores shares the same heatsink.

hehe the wc for the gx2 uses 1 block (with a plate on each side) :p

but your still using up multiple pci slots thats what I dislike to me that doesnt feel like a single card with two gpus but two cards glued together >_<

THere is virtualy no difference between Nvidia and its ATI counterpart. They both use 2 slots. Just one is 2 boards and the other is a single board with a dual slot cooler.

So, there is no argument here on space used.

ah but I mentioned prior to that how I think ATI has the better design as with them you can come out with single slot solutions and if you water cool then again your back to a single slot, nvidia design makes this not possible. So there is an argument on the spaced used ;)

Performace VS space?

Mmmmm I wouldn't care if it filled my shed I would buy it for the performance. :)

but the performance to price ratio for this card is horrible.

Is it? 300ish quid for a card that is quicker than an Ultra? Or is it not quicker?

Seems to be so far. :)

I have yet to see a WC setup for a 3870X2, but yet ive seen a WC setup for the 9800GX2. Who cares if its single slot or not? Everything good nowadays is dual slot. (- 8800GT, +1 Nvidia)
