9800GX2 Official.

Im really aiming for crysis flat out on 1680x1050

I dunno if i can risk this card being a flop driver wise

Seriously doubt it mate of all the things that could be wrong with it driver issues are likely to be the least likely problem. Just like normal SLI somes games it will do better than others and depending on res/aa/af it will scale differently just like normal SLI.

After GX2 I can see absolutely no reason to expect otherwise from it, they use a SLI connector just like using 2 cards together.

Cant see it playing crysis at very high or anything though. Next gen for that it still seems :(

dang

I thought "next gen" was due February?

pfff :p

Time for Quad before that i reckons

For me now:

Quad then Ram then err GPU? Blueray drives etc. will probably come into play this year too

how the hell do you watercool this card?

Purcahse a watercooling block for a 9800GX2 card, attach it to the card, connect it to your watercooling system...

Atleast i guess.

Well they made ones for GX2 that cooled both in one block, fits in between the pcb's. You'd remove the heatsink though mate if thats what you were thinking.

Im sure EVGA will have a black pearl version.

News guys, I heard that that this card ISNT classed as a 9 Series and is still an 8 series, I head this from a friend in collage so I have no links or anything so i have no idea if this is true. BUT he said that in actual fact it’s being named the 8900GX2, and not the 9800GX2 this seems ALOT more believable and sensible For a card thats not realy 'NEXT GEN', They did this with the 7 Series they released the 7950GX2 couple months later the G80s came out!

Yep sounds right, then the new 9800GTX to simply be called 8800GTX.

Then we got a new GTS new GT a 8800GS and a new 8800GTX, 8800GX2 on top of those all.

Makes sense.

Dont think u quite understand, i was told that its going to be called the 8900GX2 and then a couple months after just like the 7950GX2 the real 9 series will come out like the 9800GTX, I was just told this remember. This isnt my info!

suing toms hardware? thats a bit rash...

That bit may be wrong lol Nvidia wouldnt have any grounds to sue them on.

Weather or not its a 9800GX2 or a 8900GX2 i think we will all agree it should still be under the 8 Series classification as it is in now way a 'NEXT GEN' card.:nono:

You guys think this could be true??

Even without sources, that sound sensicle.
