Quite a few modern GPU's are CPU bottlenecked tbh, even on a fast quad

We've been playing with this card on a 780i board and the Q6600 and also ran into a few performance issues in both single and SLi.

Running quad SLI saw terrible performance really and although it may be bottlenecked somewhat, the drivers and scalability still need optimising we feel.

We're doing further benchmarking on it tomorrow so hope to bring you some charts and actual figures for Quad SLI, hopefully on a 790/Extreme setup.

Any update with the 790? I've been reading bad reports about the 790 not being able to o/c very well and its putting me off and steering me towards a maximus r.o.g.

And out of curiosity being a noob, , the GX2 is available form several munufacturers. i.e. Nvidia, EVGA, Gainward, XFX, BFG, MSI, Zotac, P.o.V, Inno3d (inc. oc'd) etc. Why the difference in price and what, if any, differences are there between the cards?

I went for the bfg becasue its got life time warrently, evga also have lifetime warrently on there products.

This makes me feel confident that there product will last and if not ill just get a replacement.

Well the X2 died, now I need to pick between the cheaper 98gtx or the more expensive gx2.

I was sold on the gx2 until reading the gtx review.

Yup but he doesn't want another X2 as they keep crapping out on him.. Only other upgrade to that is the GX2 which is an extra £170, and with rumours of new chips coming out June/July/August time is it worth

ing the extra money up the wall? Could just get the next best thing in the GTX to keep going until some actual new cores come out.

It is a really tough call. I just got a raise too so the extra cash doesn't really bother me tbh.

I know the gx2 is £170 more than the gtx, but I have £270 credit so really i'm only adding an extra £130.

I need to see a 98gtx vs 98gx2 vs 3870x2, fraps etc...

Edit: I want an upgrade too, not a downgrade. Very important!
