I take it the 9600 is the budget end of the 9xxx series.

It's a mid-end card, the 93xx/94xx would probably be budget.

As a mid range card, it appears to spank the old midrange card (8600), be on a par - but more solid on the minimum frames than an old 8800GTS (I assume the 8800GS with 384m is the old cards cos of the 384) which seems to be in the same ball-park as what I think is the Ati mid range card, the 3850.

Looks pretty good to me. U buy this as a mid range card, and u gotta expect not to get 50+ fps solid in Crysis, but getting just under 30, with not so much drop in slowest frame rates as the 8800GTS is nothing to sniff at.
