Hi guy's I had to rma my R9 290 as it died on me a couple of weeks ago so im in the market for another graphics card. I did have a hissy fit over the 970 specs being false and I returned my 970 strix because of this now I am undecided on whether or not to.

A) go with this GTX970 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-205-OK

B )get this gtx 960https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-359-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2379

At some point I will be water cooling the card seeing as I only game on a 1080p screen I really dont know which would be best suited for my needs and be futureproof a bit any help here guy's I would be very grateful thanks in advance

If you have the money I will go for the 970, 960 is quite satisfying at 1080p, anyway in some games it struggles a little depending the settings, especially with AA. Got the strix 960 at home, awesome pretty small card, but it is a little too short for games to come IMO.

If I went the 290x route I would buy sapphire as thats what im using atm my old HD7770 I had 2 in crossfire a couple of years ago its never let me down

Mind you the game deal on the 970 is very tempting as well

So is performance. I'd rather have more performance than an extra 2 games. Plus you get the full 4GB of vram with a 290x and if GTA is any example of how Vram will be, i'd rather have the full 4 despite whether or not the 3.5GB is an issue or not. It will be eventually.

Very true :) I was going to buy a superflower leadex 650 watt tomorrow but ill buy the 750 watt instead now

Yeah it looks nice and I can't believe the price I got it at although it will be waterblocked when I get more funds as I have a 750W modular superflower leadex inbound as well
