9500gt 1Gb, Opinions?

well i just bought a 9500GT from XFX for my HTPC and it is said to be 3 times faster than the 8500GT, but from the 3D march becnh mark the 9500GT is still much slower than a 8600GTS.

anyway for the price and power consumption i think you should be satisfied as long as you don't expect too much ;)

Save up a few extra quid and grab a 9600GSO or something like that. I recently used a 9500GT and it almost reduced me to tears.

I was hopeing that i could get better graphics from that 9500gt for crysis,

compared 2 what i am running now as from what i can make out the 9500gt,

has a 550mhz gpu compared 2 the 8500gt i have at just 400mhz gpu do

you think that it would be much of a power increase compared 2 the 8500gt.?

for crysis game have you run crysis by any chance on your 9500gt if so doz

Just make sure you have power. :)

i have been looking at some GSO cards whats the difference from the GSO n GT,

:)

Anything below a x6xx card for nVidia is meant for desktop/multimedia purposes and games at low setting.

x6xx cards are mid range. Do the above and some decent gaming.

Anything above x6xx is for gaming predominantly.

Memory on the cards is required depending on the resolutions u use (mostly). If ur over a 20" screen standard resolution, over 512m is prefered.

C'mon guys, it's been like that for years.

well i have not checked any games on my 9500 GT as it is in my HTPC which i only use for multimedia purpose.

you will probably gain a few fps in crysis but i don't think you will get significantly better gfx. You will probably still have to play at low settings as rasta mentioned.

i play crysis on medium setting only with my 8600GTS...

if your goal is too play crysis with good visual then get a 9600 GT at least
