939 is going :(

Well I've decided to retire the old skt 939 PC (it will be rebuilt in a smaller case and used as a download PC or something) and I'm building a new rig, nothing major just a new rig.

Will be fully watercooled, naturally and will have some nice laser etching when I finally mod the side panel and get it over to Tom to be done.

Nothing set in stone yet but specs so far are

Lian Li PC70B

Enermax Infiniti 620W (may change, may not)

AM2 Asus Crosshair

AM2 6000 (yes I know C2d but AMD are pretty much giving away CPU's at the moment)

Asus 8800GTS (STALKER edition)

4gb Quad Channel Geil Memory

a couple of Raptors

Watercooling may stay the same with my Swiftech / Alphacool / EK conglomoration but I may also change this and give Alphacools new X2 range a bash, undecided yet but we'll see.

A few shots of whats happening today (windows install XP of course )

As I am interesting in building a new PC but dunno about funds yet - how much will all that cost ya?

Well Xp is installed and all updates done, Bios update done etc...

Just need to bring my PC in on Friday and swap bits over :D (never that simple)

A little concerned how hot the Raptor got even just installing Windows so may look for some additional HDD cooling. Watercooling it is kinda pointless hmmmmm have to think on that one.

Obviously I can't tell you how much it's cost to build seeing as I have the unfair advantage of getting trade :D

3 hours and counting an no C2D post by XMS, he's either asleep or dead

Hey Ayd nice rig you got there - just to let you know I got all my stuff I ordered from you guys and my system is running like an absolute dream now (It is Rob from Tenerife by the way lol).

Going for Socket AM2 is a good decision really because of the imminent release of Phenom - if you find the current performance lacklustire (which you may if you are a heavy gamer) then you will walways have the option of upgrading to AMD native quad core.

I am clueless on watercooling really but looking at those I think the Swiftech? (On the left side) looks the best, and I think that cooling differences will be marginal between them so go for what fits in best with your system.

well a quick install on Friday as it all has to come out again in a few weeks and in to a new case which is already en route to Tom for a bit of TLC and work.

A few pics but only a rough idea of where this is heading :D

Case is still causing me problems (sorry Tom) as I keep changing my mind as to what I want done.......Powder coated black inside is as far as I've got so far..........

2nd loop will be going in to cool NB /SB etc.... going for a simple 10/8mm system to a 120mm rad and probably with red fluid to offset the black fluid used in the main loop.........but not set in stone yet........as usual......I'm a little indecisive if you hadn't already guessed :D

nice mate :D what kinda temps you looking at with that EK gts block? i'm quietly considering one...
