900D radiator placement

Good afternoon guys

Well i've been watching Tom's videos for ages now so thought i would start using the forums to see what the community is like, as i've used ocuk and guru3d for years now.

I was looking for some advice on the best install method for my kit into my new 900D case (bought after watching Tom's extensive review, twice!)

If i list my kit below, perhaps you can give some pointers on where stuff could go for the cleanest look

Intel 4960x
Asus Rampage Extreme IV
32GB Samsung Green
2 x mechanical drives
2 x SSD
EK 4.0 Pump (pretty ugly but a cracking pump)
Bitspower Z-Multi 400ml tube reservoir
360mm x 80mm Alphacool Monsta Rad
240mm EK Radiator
Radeon 295x2 with full XSPC Waterblock
Supreme HF CPU Waterblock
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000w PSU
Red bitfenix cable extensions all around
Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 x 5
Zalman 8 fan controller

think thats it!

I am moving from a switch 810 which is great but i didn't really have any room for the pump to go, it was sitting on the bottom 240mm radiator which just looked crap aesthetically as you could see it through the window, plus the cable management room on the back was terrible and i couldn't close the case without really squeezing it

I was going to ask if i should put the 240mm rad on the bottom, and also put the pump down there as well, that was it should be hidden when the bottom panel is closed? Also is that enough radiator or do you think i should have replaced the 240 for a 480?

Anyway, hello from the Isle of Man!!

Hi
It looks like a nice setup. I would personally go with at least 480 + 240 radiator as even though the 360 + 240 would likely be just enough i would rather have some room to play with and keep the fan speeds down. Also consider that in the the 900d there is no top cover for the bottom compartment so most components will be partially visible through the window unless you mod your own cover.
I am also partial to the corsair psu's for their low ripple and full modularity. That being said i own a Cooler master silent pro gold 1200 that has served me well with no problems.
Regarding the pump i would consider a D5 variant as they are kind of an industry standard and mine have served me for years with no trouble. I have also read the EK pumps may have issues with some fittings but i don't own one.
Hope this helps.

I already have a 480mm and a 360mm. Installing a 480mm with push pull with over 40mm thickness will be a waste in the top. 480mm in the bottom and 360mm top in the 900D.

The price difference between a 480mm and a 360mm is marginal, better get a 480mm in that case. I got mine 360mm as I bought the dual D5 kit ax360 from XSPC
