8800 gtx running hot?

Hi guys my 8800gtx is running at 64 idle according to HWMonitor, is that normal..?

I think in 2d the fan defaults to like 30%, and in 3d it increases to 70%. Whats your load temp?

yup perfectly fine temps you got there it can go all the way up to 80 ish on load. well at least my gtx used to do that. and btw the lowest fan can drop rpm to is 59%

myn hits over 85 on loads sometimes

Is there anyway to make it go to 100%? And is that OKAY? or does it stress things out too much

nah, most go upto 80 odd degs... there is a way, rivatuner will do it, but it is loud

put some as5, you'd get better temp with the stock cooler

So you mean take off the heatsink thing from the card and put the as5? wont that void the warranty?

We just brought something similar to that question up in another thread.

It would appear that some manufacturers frown upon the re-application of thermal goo, such as Gainward - so it may be worth u checking that out b4 doing it if ur warranty-concious.

Be interesting for us to have a listing of any manufacturers that don`t frown on entusiasts doing what they do.

You can do pretty much what you want with an evga card
