850 or 750

I've made my mind up that I want a Corsair AX series PSU but I don't know if I need 850watts or if 750 would be enough.

I haven't finished my build yet but I think it will look like this:

Intel i5 2500k

ASUS p8p67 PRO

Corsair 650D

2x 2gb 1600 mushkin raidioactive (might upgrade this to 2x4gb)

a DVD drive

1tb Caviar green hard drive

120gb force 3 SSD

a HD6950

a XSPC rasa 750 pump for a basic CPU loop (240rs XSPC kit)

I want space on the PSU to be able to get upgrade things such as going to crossfire etc.

Cheers!

Hi,

I would expect the 750 to be more than enough, though the 850 will potentially give you more options / less worry going forward if you start changing or adding stuff.

I have the HX750w with a 2500k @ 4.6 and SLI GTX570's @ 800 core plus hdd etc. and it's working just fine. I'm not however running a Pump at the moment (I do plan to eventually), though even an 18w isn't adding a busting lot.

Btw: I would have bought an 850 myself, but I got the 750 cheap.

Cheers,

Scoob.
