7970 Queries

Hi,

I currently have 2 x XFX Black Edition 7970's in CF on water.

I want to work my way to 3 Samsung 23" 120Hz Monitors so I can do Eyefinity.

I know I don't need 120Hz for Eyefinity. But 120Hz does look better and also these monitors will do 3D.

With reference 7970's you can only out put to two Display Port monitors which from what I've read is needed

for 120Hz.

I was always going to get a 3rd 7970 but want to make the right choice. I've been looking at the MSI 7970 Lightening.

This has 2 x DVI and 4 x Display port out puts. I'd put this card as the main card and the other two XFX 7970's as 2nd and 3rd card

for Quad fire.

My problem is... because I have my other two cards on water cooling already it would make perfect sense to water cool the MSI.

But it's not reference PCB.

Can anyone advise a way to solve this issue?

Is there a compatible cooler out there for the MSI 7970. I know EK are making one. But it seems to have been in production for some time now.

Or maybe suggest another way so I can do 3 x monitors at 120Hz (maybe another 7970 card that I can WC).

Thanks!

If you can output 2 DP monitor from each card, then what's the problem?

But what he's done is....

He has an ASUS, 4 port Display port card as his main card.

That's how he's achieving 120Hz with 3 screens.
