7970 280x Crossfire

Just seen this on tech powerup which even futher supports what Tom said in his video about the similarities between the 7970 and 280x, i.e. The two cards can be crossfired together they are that similar.

hey akzy, I have just received 2 r9 280x's this morning, I know tom says you have got to be mad to get these but I got them for the same price as the windforce 7970's so I don't really mind, and I know that they are 7970's. as soon as I paid for them the price went up, i have also noticed that the 7950's to 7990 prices have also risen a bit.

Well if it was cheaper then you did the right thing. More likely than not for most deals, the older generation will be cheaper so it makes sense to go for that.
