Hi,

Upgrading my 7950 to a non reference one because I find the reference cooler too loud, and I have a mate who's made me and offer on my reference version...

So which to go for?

I dont have that much money spare, so I cant really go for a 670 I dont think, but we'll see. Still a possibility!

Thanks.

It's £320 though :/ Around £45 more than the 7950 Twin Frozr.

Think you have just answered the question for which to get though. Didnt even think about the motherboard colours :)

Yeh, but I'm getting the upgrade in the first place to make it quieter, it's a tricky choice, but I think I'd definitely like to keep it as quiet as possible

Hmmm, I'm seriously considering the 670...

It's just gunna be a case of finding funds - considering todays the day I can upgrade my phone. Not too sure if I can shell out another £80 after selling my gpu, may have to find more things to sell :)

Out of those two i'd go with the KFA because it's quieter. Both overclock very well and look awesome, but the Palit is a little bit louder

Difficult choice. How much quieter / cooler is the KFA to a reference design?

The KFA is almost as quiet as the almighty Asus DCUii, just a tiny bit louder. The Palit on the other hand is actually louder than the reference cooler at full load. Also consider the Gigabyte Windforce 670 and the Asus DCUii if you can stretch that far.

Tom's hardware did a review of 7 different 670's, link here. It's a very interesting read

Thanks for that link!

So it's between the ASUS (which is £50 more expensive), the Gigabyte Windforce, and the KFA2. But, the MSI power edition wasnt tested in that 7 so does anyone know how that performs?

On looks, I prefer the KFA, and performance is similar between that and the gigabyte, but still unsure

Here's a link to a review of the MSI card

As for noise it's ok, but it's only 3dbA quieter than the reference card at load, the Asus, KFA2 and Gigabyte cards are quite a bit quieter
