7950 bad fps

second run successful, half into the third run. i'm sorry i really can't run this thing for 24 hours, i have it in my room and if it is on i won't be able to sleep.

nah it's actually rather silent, but i tried it a couple of times when i had to redownload my steam library and i just couldnt sleep. i have to redownload my steam library again because i will reinstall windows today, so i could let prime95 run while steam is downloading tomorrow morning maybe. also 1 hour is over and its still doing good.

How many games do you have on your library hopefully not a lot lucky for me my games are on my other harddrive, I have to reinstall windows when I get my PC back. Origin games are my on c drive but they won't take long to download its all about steam haha

Good, let it run, go eat some pie, watch some tv if you want lol. Seems like the stablest setting so far.. How is your voltage? Still jumping around? You enabled LLC? How are the temps?

temps are steady at 61°, it once shortly jumped to 1.47V, but now it has been steady at 1.46V for an hour. LLC is enabled. My Steam library is rather small, only 28 games, origin has 3 but i only care about bfbc2 from EA. actually i didn't buy anything at the winter sale, i bought 5 games at the summer sale though and i was pretty hyped for the winter sale. i intended to buy uplink, it was only 2.50€ but i wasn't at home and then i missed out on it :(

i'm gonna let it run for another 30 minutes, if it's stable i will reinstall windows and all that stuff, i need it next week. i hope the low performance problem that initially started this thread won't be much of a problem anymore, i will try the driver that is on the disc this time, i read that it might help.

and i'm definitely not going to watch tv, it's unbelievable what kind of crap is on there ;) i have the godfather trilogy here and i've only seen it once in german with a bunch of loud retards around me on a bus trip, i think i won't be bored watching this in depth in english.

I think you should let it run more. It is pretty obvious that its a bitt of a voltage issue... the stable OC and etc, but till you don't run it stable 24/7 you can't really call it stable. Watch the temps, they should not reach 70C.. they already seem kinda high.

61°, hasn't changed in nearly two hours now. i could get it colder, but my fan is only spinning at 950 rpm. i could plug it into a 3pin header to get it to spin at 1300rpm.

i guess i owe all of you who helped me a big thank you :) i will be running some more tests tomorrow, but i really need to fix my OS first. my goal still is to achieve 4.6Ghz, but for now this is fine. i learned a bunch of valuable lessons :)

It was a pleasure to help. And you haven't even learned half of a quarter of it all... not even close. But you will... starting is difficult when you don't know much, but when you start to learn it will become alot less complicated.

Well I have been here every day, and honestly this is the only thread I posted on every page... And I like to help.. I am no expert but I know one or two things about computers... Sometimes I might repeat myself but I am not doing it in the interest of accumulating posts.. it doesn't get me anywhere, doesn't make me richer, brighter, more attractive... but helping morally satisfies me, and that's why I have so many posts. :)

well it certainly helped me. you will probably see me in the CPU OC section next week or so when i will try to get the 4.6Ghz mark ;)

Well, I can tell how excited you are about going there, but first you need to make sure this is stable, and I think you will have to get a better cooling solution cause your temps are already high and with your voltage jumping around like that... I would wait a little bit to get better cooling.

The Corsair H60 really should do better. i need to figure out how to make the fan spin faster, i guess the noctua nf-p12 PWM is optimized for Intel CPUs, 950rpm under full load isn't really fast.

Well I am surprised it got that hot with a H60... it's good that the temps didn't go very high, but still high. With 1.56V on my Athlon it doesn't get over 55C on air with a Phenom II stock cooler... That Bulldozer must eat some power if it gets that hot.
