7870 Tahiti LE ONLY £127.99!!

But...but... thats less than I paid for my 7870 non xt :(. Aww man...

Not a card for overclocking though, loads of people complain about that particular cooler on this forum and from what people say about that card you can't overclock it without dealing with the issue of heat.

my house-mate has that card, he has had no issues with heat etc, never tied overclocking though.

Still can't believe nearly half the ram on my xfx 7950 had no thermal pads on it.
silly xfx. the cooler on the 7870 tahiti card from them seems a lot better designed/refined though.

updated your main thread title (I think you can do this with an advanced edit anyway?)

it.

From what I've heard some of the coolers work, some don't. I guess its a gamble but for the price I'd be tempted to get a custom cooler for this card.

quick look through amazon and the standard 7870's are around the £150 mark.

Even if you factor in the delivery charge @ aria, it still makes this card an absolute no brainer!

my problem was that whoever assembled my HD 7950 card was careless enough to forget to put thermal pads on two of the ram chips and only half cover a 3rd ram chip.

couldn't even complain about it as i has to remove the cooler to see it (when i water cooled it), voiding the warranty in the process. caused crysis 3 to freeze on two occasions, before i water cooled it. (only happened on crysis 3)

the card is now owned by a friend of mine after a re-attached the stock cooler after adding new thermal pads, his temps are soo much cooler.

whoever forgot to add those thermal pads should lose his job, i feel sorry for anyone else who had this issue.
