7870 > 7950 wtf?

Hi guys i had a system put together with a phenom ii x4 955, 4gb ram and a 7870 i was getting a minimum of about 40 and avg of about 50 in BF3 multiplayer it was the ASUS 1100 version,
I sold the cpu and had a triple core i put in until i have a new cpu etc and stuck a 7950 in with it and i was getting lower frame rates was down about 30-40fps fps core was @810.

Any clues should this be got around 6600 in 3dmark 11 gpu score.
GPU-Z reads ok is it me or is the ASUS card a flyer?

Yup, cpu probs holding the 7950 back. 7950 is faster than 7870.

I bagged myself a bargain 2600k and a cheap gigabyte board have to get another 4gb of ram as i dont think 4 is cutting it.
The 7870 did have the extra core and l3 to help out with bf3 and that asus card is overclocked to begin with so will report back on it as i know that game is supposedly fond of cores.
