780ti which one?

I give as option because it's only 40e difference if he buy and backplate for Ti, in USA is 100$ difference and always was price difference same in euro and dollars...
Anyway 780Ti Classified is best option, I don't know how someone can look such card for that price even if don't want to OC. Card have another BIOS with 1085MHz base clock with highest boost on market.

Not worth in the UK, you are paying around 100 quid more for the kingpin one... I'd only go for it if the price difference was <60 pounds.

I doubt you will get much of an advantage as far as OCs go on air or on water (if you can find a waterblock for the kingpin) because of how effective the standard PCB designs are.

100 is really big difference, no doubt in that, that's same card.
Only one is unique and better for LN2... For normal user 50-60 difference is acceptable, like I say for GTX780Ti Classified I would buy and backplate 100% and than difference is even less. But 100 is too much for someone who don't use under zero...

Yeah, if I was going for a card to do some OC competitions with I would most certainly get the kingpin, but for normal use there is not much point.

Good grief... Not this again with the Kingpin! :(

I'd recommend the eVGA 780Ti Superclocked w/ACX cooler. I had the 780 SC w/ACX and it was a really decent card, cool and relatively quiet under load. I used the EVGA "Step-Up" program to upgrade to the reference Ti and the difference between the two cards was pretty impressive so a 780Ti with the ACX cooler should be pretty boss.

Also, I may be worth waiting a few weeks to see if the price of the 780Ti's come down a bit what with the Titan Black and 790 round the corner. They dropped the price of the 780's by almost £100 when the Ti's came out!?

Just a thought...

Early reports for the Kingpin on air and water are a bit disappointing. The memory overclocking headroom is quite poor compared to the regular Classified. The reason for this is the Kingpin uses memory that will give the best performance using LN2 but on air or water it is not so good.

So the memory chips operate better at <0C??? I didn't think there was any major difference in memory chip temps when using LN2 or LHe.

Might be another thorn in AMD's back side... And AFAIK they don't have anything major for radeon.

Uh have you lived under a rock? the 290x and 290 are "major" cards for AMD.
You do not need any exotic cards for any GPU. A good GPU under water is more than enough.

Ok first off let me just say there is no way I will even consider the KINGPIN card. It is 180 pounds more expensive then the SC ACX so yeah no thank you on that one. Plus the clear plastic looks gaff imo.

My budget is kinda unlimited but there is a few lines where I will personally say no, see example above.

The SC ACX is also 40 pounds cheaper than the Classified version but that might be something I would consider.
I also looked at those Inno3D cards, those things are monsters. While they are cool and all they have the same issue as the phantoms with being more than 2 slots. Now I could scrap the sound card from my rig and squeeze them in but I would rather keep my sound card.

I am leaning a lot to the SC ACX and considering the Classified atm.

As for the amd talk please can you keep your discussion on which ones better amd or nvidia to another thread. I appreciate your advice on those cards but I have a couple of reasons I would rather stay Nvidia. Nvidia cards perform better in 3d autocad than amd. I also have my current cards setup for other applications that use my gpus to speed up processing and some applications are not applicable with amd cards. Now there is probably alternatives to these programs for amd cards but it would be a lot more hassle to find them and set them up. I do not just use my rig for gaming as I use 3d apps for college and video rendering for fun every so often. This is also the reason I went 3930k rather than the 3770k (back then). So when you say they are the same in games but cheaper it kinda runs off me as I am not just gaming. Anyway thanks for the advice.

MSI 780ti Gaming

Ok I tried pretty much all of the gtx 780 ti cards and ended up making videos of two of my favorite ones.. They are unboxing and close up videos..

1. Stock EVGA GTX 780 ti SC

2. MSI GTX 780 ti GAMING OC Edition with Twin Frozr

I am happy to say that I am settled with the MSI.. After reading countless reviews and everything else I decided it was the best out there currently. I am planning on water cooling it but just looking at the build quality and how quiet and cold it runs, hands down it is the best one for me.

It took me few days to get used to how quiet it runs at full load, that I felt the urge to check it few times. :)

I hope the videos help you decide..

Well, they were replies, and at that, quite good ones, to NVidia's GK110 cards, but I would say NVidia have responded well with the price cuts. So what do AMD have now to reply to the 790/Titan BE other than price cuts (which seems unlikely considering the already low price). On top of that, Nvidia is likely to reduce the prices of the existing cards to make a bit more room for the new ones, which is something they seem more likely to have margins for than AMD.

Anyway, I'd say the eVGA is the best choice, as it leaves you open for water cooling.

MSi's one has problems with SLI connectors being fouled by the shroud, also has warranty sticker.

That inno3d one looks ridiculous, you would have some problems with the triple slot... Also, it looks longer than a 590 or 6990 l0l Do they do the 780 TI on it though, I only found the 780.

AMD prices are supposed to be lower than they currently are but bitcoin mining have encouraged etailers/retailes to put up prices. The price cuts on nvidia have been good however I still maintain that certain 290s are better value than most (not all, certain 780s are much more worth it) of the 780s. Not all of them though. Also people still go on about the heat issue and I imagine that has affected sales a bit. Also only the Titan BE seems likely to be the only one to come out that AMD don't have an answer for. This is because the titan is more a compute card than a gaming card. The 790 (if it happens) would most likely be 2 lower clocked 780s. If the 790 does appear, I imagine AMD will produce a dual 290 card later on, much like what happened with the 7990/690 war. the Dual 290 will be hilariously hard to cool if AMD go about the cooling like the did with the 290x though.

Random thought: Y U NO USE 7990 cooler for 290(x)

Quick question, which of the 780Ti cards don't use reference boards?

Random thought: Y U NO USE 7990 cooler for 290(x)

Because its a double gpu cooler and its also quite pants :P.

Also, while the inno3D one looks "ridiculous" they are actually very cable cards. The 780ti ones should be one of the highest performing when they are released.

Well they could have used a similar design as far as the fans and heatsink. Would have made them much more compelling when released...
