780ti SLI enough?

Hi folks just a question,

Ive decided to purchase myself a 34 inch Dell U3415W LED Curved IPS Monitor, its native resolution 3440 x 1440, Now i have 2 x 780ti in SLI. Im slightly worried they wont have the power to push this monitor in the games i play, like Arma2/3, COH2, Wargame Red Dragon. I know im limited to just 3gb of vram with this set up which is causing me concern although im holding out hope for W10 with Direct X12 to give my old 780tis a new lease of life by vram stacking etc etc, i realize this will only happen if games support it.

Anyway should i sell the 2 780tis and buy myself a single 980ti for the extra vram or stick with what ive got, also considering my rig is Custom WC it means i will have to sauce a waterblock for the 980ti aswell so this could get expensive eeek.

Opinions and Answers welcome.

My system...

If you already have the 780tis, don't worry about a 980. If you really can't take two 780tis, then you'll need to grab yourself 2 980s, but I think that's out of the question. Be careful with the rad being outside, as you may get condensation on your blocks. I don't know when you made the loop, but if you did so recently I'd check around the blocks for water droplets.

Not really played those games but if I mess with the settings in most games at 4K I can get a solid 60FPS and above.

I wouldn't personally swap from the 780Ti's to the 980's because they are not much faster, if I was to swap out the cards it would be to either 980Ti's or Titan X's.

DX12 may help in future games, but I don't think it will help in older games as afaik it would need a patch from the game developer to add in the DX12 features.

This loop has been in existence now for 3 years with absolutely no condensation at all.
With other components of course.
You talk about a 980, but i was hinking about swapping out the 780tis for a single 980ti not 980.

Either way, stick with the dual 780tis, lower a setting or 2 if you end up hitting the vram limit. Only consider upgrading if you find a 980ti for real cheap or until the next gen cards are out.

Also next time if you are opening a thread to ask for advice on the graphics card or a specific part of the system, please do not post so many images, makes it a bit annoying to load on a smart phone at times. One is enough for people to get the idea.

There is a rig gallery section for displaying your system.

Don't listen to newbie above, we like pictures, the more the better! It's not 1999 any more :).

The only upgrade from 780ti SLI is 980ti SLI I'm afraid. I've got 780ti SLI and I already see them struggle at 2560x1600. I'm waiting until after summer (so much to do) then I'll be 980ti SLI myself.

Nice rig btw, I've often thought about a rad outside :).

Haha just looked it up on youtube, i think they failed tho?

To be honest i would never ever go to the expense and effort of doing custom wc again, i think these days aio wc perform very well for alot less hassle and expense and can look just as good if done correctly.

The one Linus did, did actually work in the end but only once they had sorted out the res and pumps.

I thought about a rad mounted to the wall on the outside of the house at one point, but I ended up not doing it because I could not be bothered with all the hassle and not being, able to move the pc from one side of the room to the other at different times of the year due to sunlight.
