Because the 290xs performance are just slightly below the 780ti, is it just a no brainer not to buy the 290? Except I want 120fps for bf4 and the gigabyte oc 780ti is better then the titan and a tad under the 7990..should I wait for the price drop, or is it worth the money?

the 780ti beats the crap out of the 290x, they are close in bf4 because the game is optimized for AMD.

if you are only into BF, feel free to buy a 290, it's the better choice for that.

It comes down to noticeable FPS, how many games where the 780ti is faster will you actually notice the difference? Sure it is faster, but most of where it is faster it's not like you are going to notice the difference.

So is it really worth the extra £200 over the 290, if you are going to notice the difference because of resolution and you don't mind spending the extra £220 then go for the 780ti, otherwise the 290 is still a very good card for the price.

I'll want to Turn to nvidia for gsync and light boost on my new monitor.. I'm leaning towards nvidia for that reason.. But paying the extra amounts not worth it?

you can get the 780 at a way cheaper price as well, it's not like it is a bad card, it keeps up with the 290x or even beats it in a lot of games.

That was aimed at the 60fps comment...

Get the 780ti, you've clearly set your mind on it
