So thinking about upgrading my gpu from a 560Ti to one of the above....but im not sure which! play BF3, SC2, Wow, ME3 for the most part. not really a fanboy of either company atm, one thing i have been thinking is i am using a corsair 550D case, and the airflow is kinda min. so would a reference design cooler run quieter and cooler than an aftermarket design such as a gigabyte windforce?

First of all: A 7950 would out-perform a GTX 760 but I do think that a GTX 760 is cheaper (at least it is where I live)
Aftermarket coolers are designed to be cooler and quieter and most succeed in doing so. Most are advertised as '20% quieter and 20% cooler than reference'.
The only advantage to a reference cooler is that it blows the air directly out the back of the case instead of spreading it all through the case. Assuming your case has good enough airflow, having an aftermarket cooler should not really be a problem and the only reason to get a reference card is if you want to go SLI or watercool in the future.
That said, EVGA has a GTX 760 ACX card which is kind of in between. I believe it has a reference PCB (though you'll have to check that) and the warm air only gets pushed out the front and the back of the card as the top and bottom are closed with a plastic cover:

Well i hit the buy button on the EVGA 760 SC ACX. hoping to have it Tuesday? lol who knows hopefully it ships today. i have run some benchmarks on my 560Ti now, so i will compare them to the 760 when i get it installed. Benchmarks i have run are
3d Mark, Catzilla, Unigine Heaven, bvalley, sanctuary, tropics, and Vantage. if anyone has any other free benchmarks they would like to see please let me know today and i will add them.....but after i get the new card installed i dont want to put the old one back in to run more. so let me know asap

So, the cooler on the EVGA cards is actually not like the one u showed me in the picture there feronix. although all the reviews and videos I have seen described and showed the same cooler as u showed me in the pic, the shroud on the cooler actually doesn't cover the entire top and bottom at all like in the pics, AND the fins in the heat sink actually run from top to bottom, not front to back like in the pic. I took a pic of the top and bottom of my EVGA 760 SC ACX this morning before i sent it back (the card was faulty) and here is how it actually looks, not like any of the reviews ive seen on the card

You can see the gap between the shroud and the pcb, so with this card most, if not all, of the hot air is directed back into the case, with next to none expelled out the back
