6850 to the future

For the past year i have been using crossfire 6850's and sadly they are starting to show their age, Because im used to the performance of the two cards i am trying to find a Single Card that either matches or is better then the Crossfire, Im not fussed if its Nvidia or amd but i have to be sensible with the price...im only 16 and as my parents continuously tell me "Money dosnt grow on trees" So. Can i have some suggestions on what card would be the best to get, oh and It will be put on water at some stage so the loudness isnt really an issue, Would it be wise to wait till HD8000?

In my opinion as 6850 x 2 is still a very good performing setup I would wait till 8000 or 700 series to upgrade

I'm sure ive seen 7970's for around 280 quid on sale before. maybe try and get one of those if not do as seumas said and wait ill the new cards are out then you could save some more money

Thanks for your replies, Would a 660Ti be one up, from the benchmarks it looks like so..I was considering waiting till the HD8000 or the 700

I am pretty sure that 2 x 6850's would be quite a bit better than a 660ti, so it really isn't worth it

2x 6850 is around the same performance as a OC'd GTX580...
That means you'd see definite increases even from something like a 7950/670, especially in heavy VRAM situations, and if you were willing to OC ~

Just a thought, but in all honestly the increase isn't going to be worth £280, and you're better off waiting for the 8k/700 series ~
