Frag...

Given that then 8800s are on release your side of the ocean any ideas if the 680i nvidia/intel boards have been released? I ask because I am in the market for one?

I hear on the grapevine that the release will initially be restricted to BFG in the states and EVGA in the UK....any ideas mate.

M:yumyum:

Sorry mate, no news on the boards yet. I'll keep an eye out and be sure to post up as soon as they become available.

I've seen some results from them. They're OK at best so far, topping 330MHz FSB roughly. Better BIOS' might give better results though.

They sure look sexy with a G80 on them.

That's not much (if any) better than the old version.

The feeling I got from what's been said at XS is that they're in the 500 league along with the RD600.

i dunno where you saw that NickS, sounds like you were talking about the older 5 series *shrug*

the refrence 680i boards from nv clock quite well (over 450MHz for the FSB), but there are some fsb "holes" at the moment that won't boot (and change depending on the cpu used)

they're working hard to reduce the size of holes and where possible, remove them completely asap. and expect to fix the prob with a bios update ;) (hopefully before launch)

Is the nForce 600 again just a "refreshed" 500 series? Just like they did with the Nforce4 -> nForce5 ?

I think that one of the chips is changed to give far better overclocking

Fry's has the new 680i boards in stock for like $299... Lemme see if I can't find somewhere online who has it.

Edit: Nothing online yet that I can find.

Yeah well I just recieved word that was the "reference" board with a "junk" BIOS. Some prelim tests with the DFI i680 board does 500+ FSB from what I understand.

Alot of people have done tests witht he 680i and man it looks sweeet!

500+FSB and tons of features. RD600 who? :D

No one here that I know of has one of the eVGA's yet, but the word on XS is that it's a darn nice board that's producing some very good results. Maybe you got a lemon? I'd definately give it another shot, or perhaps wait to pick up a 680i board from another manufacturer. *cough* abit IN9 32X-MAX *cough* :rocker:

Im pretty sure it should be.. unless you have a totally different BIOS on it or something... i think its actually pretty rare Windows plays up cos you changed your motherboard unless there's something big that's different about it
