Need Advice. Ryzen or Intel?

Intel's ITX Z270 boards are only sata 3 M.2 and X4 M.2.
There is no dual x4. You lose half your sata on ITX by using 2 M.2 slots. Is it worth losing essentially 2 sata ports? Not really.

Outside that, the other things are preferences. The BIOS's will be similar from brand to brand and if USB is a high priority, you can always buy a USB hub or get a GPU that has VR plug ins in the end of the card.

But it sounds like you just want intel and you are convincing yourself to get it. So just do it if you are more comfortable with that.

Not at all. I like to think I give companies more than a fair chance to prove themselves. I was more than willing to go Amd this time.

Actually I have to point out that you looked up the wrong chipset. H270...not Z270. Also I will be using only 1 2.5 inch SSD.....the m.2 will be for OS only.

I didn't. You mentioned Z270 ITX. So I went by what the boards actually have. And it's x4 and Sata. Which makes sense on a tiny board. The only board that I found with dual M.2 is Asus. And it's Sata and x4
EVGA has a dual m.2 but one is not meant for storage devices (it's useless I have it on my current board).

I'm not saying you didn't give AMD a chance, but just seems the direction you are heading is towards Intel. Which again is fine. Has what you want and more than likely has better ITX boards since AM4 doesn't have many options

A local store had an open box Asus Strix Z270i itx board for $150CDN even....after careful consideration and a demand that I be allowed to see it in action it works perfectly so I grabbed it.
