6800 Gs 512 Agp

Hi guys new to the site!

Some of you might know that the 6800 GS has 12 pipelines and you can unlock another 4 to make it 16 pipelines all up using river tuner.

With my card that i just bought, i just bought it so i can start playing some games mainly WoW (i only have AGP slot no pcie). I have overclocked the card with no luck with improving FPS much in WoW and now i want to unlock the full 16 pipelines like many people have.

Problem is, from what the guide shows to what is in my bios is different. I know that the PICe is unlockable but the AGP is ment to be!

Here is a pic, shows there is nothing to unlock.

Any help?

Anyone know how to increase FPS in WoW or any tweaks to this card that can increase FPS ? Thanks.

I always thought that it was the AGP taht unlocks and not the PCI-E.

And it is quite rare to get an unlockable card, I think Nvidia started lasering the last 4 pipelines. :eh:

The early AGP chips could be unlocked yeah. The latter ones were bios locked iirc, or lazered as tox said.

The fact that the extra pipes aren't even listed makes my guess that you cant do it im afraid.

And that card should be more than enough too play WoW. And measuring FPS change, make sure vsync is off. Overclocking will help it but only by a margin

A 6800 based pc with a ~decent~ cpu and ample memory, is enough to slaughter WOW.

The only time u can really get slowdown is when u run into an area where 50million people are, that`s pretty much network related.

Ham`s right tho, I`m sure WOW has a setting for vsync - and possibly frame limiting, some clans like to do that.
