6600gt sli

Yes it will. Any 2 matched chips will work regardless of ram size, or clock.

For example

6600GT chip & 6600GT chip will work

6600 chip & 6600GT chip will not work

6600GT 128mb & 6600GT 512mb will work ect.

I read that if you flash the higher card to the same as the lower it would work.

But that may be un-nessierialy complicated.

Thats crazy! Why would you flash (risking the card) the card, when you can just change the settings in the registry? :p

You could always disable the extra ram in the cards bios instead of flashing it. Less risk that way, but then again since the drivers are supposed to do it automaticaly why bother?

Youd have to flash the card with the bios you've modifyed. So you wouldnt avoid flashing atall.

iirc when sli 1st emerged this was how the hardware gurus did it, then the software people came along and fixed it. I may be living in cookoo land atm tho. stupid work.

The software guys came along and fixed it cause the hardware n00bs. n00bs where buying great cards but tried to flash and screwed up then tried to blame Nvidia or w/e. Sooo the software greats had to do clean up and make the drivers do all the work.
