@yassarikhan786 - Thank you for the info. Bit annoying that such a nice case is spoilt by something so simple. At least its easily fixed.

No problem mate

I bought my case in June and I'm sure it was the revision with the rubber grommets on the fans. I think the fans are not the problem, I think it's something to do with the air being pushed through the grills. I read on the corsair forums that a lot of people couldn't get rid of the buzzing noise by replacing the fans. They had to use the repair kit that corsair provide, which did help, but caused other issues. IIRC one of the issues was that the lowest setting on the fan controller had virtually disappeared.

Looks like its off my Christmas list then - I'm looking for quiet. Shame as aesthetically its spot on.

Thanks for the further information guys

nice points and yes I also found out about the dodger fan controller and fan buzzing. I have my own fan controller and I'd probably replace the stock fans anyway

Still loving this case...! It's still a want!

Don't take it off your list. Just add a fan controller to your list and your good to go. I think I might have gotten the non-revised case, but the buzzing disappears completely with a fan controller/better fans.

EDIT: The stock fans are doing a very good job at keeping my rig cool and I can tell they are working very well. I'm probably going to replace the top 200mm fan with 2 120mm ones.

So ideally... is this case worth me getting having already got the CM690 ii advanced? I'll try and get a poll up...

Edit:

Added poll!

Probably should have done this initially... Oh well.

Hi,

Just stop torturing yourself by waiting for someone to post a reason not to buy it and BUY it already!

Lol.

Ok, joking aside, it's a really nice case with options for good effective cooling even when using a pair of 480's - which is quite impressive! You'd be able to happily cool both your CPU and later your GPU too and have a near-silent PC!

I'd say the options it presents make it a more flexible case than the 690 II. As you know I have a 690 II lite and found that it was one compromise too far to ask it to cool what I needed when I planned to go water. For just the CPU it would have been fine, for CPU and GPU it would have been "ok" (subjective of course) but now I'm SLI it doesn't cut it.

I'm not sure what your future plans are, but the 650D certainly gives you more options than the 690 II Adv. you already have.

You should still get good money for your 690 II Adv. - they are good cases - however the 650D gives you added flexibility.

I suppose you have to ask yourself, are you just going to migrate your current build to the new case? If so then you're not going to gain much. If however you're going to expand your loop (water cool that GPU already!) then it might make a much more sensible* option

Cheers,

Scoob.

* Sensible, not really a word to use when, if you're honest, you just want new STUFF! I sooo get that! lol.

Thanks for the input everyone, and personally, I don't find the 600T that appealing. The outer case body just doesn't do it for me and I prefer the "box" look of the 650D as the previous cm690 cases I had were/are a little rounded anyway.

I'm still unsure. I mean, as I may have said earlier, IF I don't get this job (which I'll know sometime this week) then I may get it to "lift my spirits".

If I do get it... Fairwell to this beaut. Although, my birthday is up in November. Lots of money please!

When I get the funds, this case is definitely on the "to buy" list!
