Well I've been considering a change from the Coolermaster CM690 series, the ii adv. is serving me well but I really like the look of the Corsair 650D.

Anyone think I shouldn't bother? I'm still going to water cool in it (replacing the rad I have with 200mm/280mm slim ones) so the case temps should really cause much of an issue.

One at the bottom, front panel (may have to drill a few hols in) and the other at the top. Seen a lot of builds with the Phobya Xtreme 200mm at the bottom.

ermm yeah AFAIK your not going to get in a 280mm radiator in there, and i dont think you can get the one in the front 240mm rad in the front i think it fouls the optical bays by about 2 cm so you will have to cut out on of the optical bays

I'll stick with a 200mm rad then. Just move all the HDD cages about, but at least I can have more than 2 HDDs in at once (well I'd have 3 if I got this case but that's still more room for adding another TB).

Think all I need is to drill a few holes in, lower than the ones pre-drilled.

Front.

Well I'm thinking as I'm only going to cool the CPU (eventually OC) I could settle for a top 280mm fan (something like this slim Magicool 280mm rad) and a single 120.1 rad on the exhaust fan on the back panel.

the 280 doesnt fit because of the hotswap tray and in the front there just isnt enough room i measured it and from the floor you have 25-27cm but radiators have massive heads so they are a bit bigger than 24cm in total so i still dont think it fits

For the front I was refering to the 200mm rad, not the 280mm. The 280mm would fit at the top of the case.

Well I would have moved the HDDs and the HDD block from there and just used the 3-tray HDD bay next to it (nearer the PSU). Check out this build to get what I mean, http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=94403

Haha it's amazing isn't it? Hence why I want one

Funny thing is this is the 2nd thread today about the 650D and I watched Tom's vid on it this morning. It has so many options, I don't normally like the starkness of the Corsair cases, but this one just hits the spot. I wonder how quiet it is? btw Tom never gave this case an award either.

I heard there was a little buzz from the 200mm fans (not sure which one) that as it's mounted onto the chassis's main frame stirs up a load of vibrations, but I think corsair are supplying free antivibration kits. Not 100% sure though, I know it's definite in the US.

I read a Hexus review, they gave it a nice 4.5/5

The case is just a beaut! I seriously feel although I need this is my life. If I don't get a new job tomorrow then my next wages may be spent on gettingthe case...! Wish aria still had it for £120

OK - So I've been doing some further research into this case. I like things to be quiet, but have found that there is a generic problem with the 650D. Apparently they use the same fans as the 600T, but instead of running them at 800rpm they run them at 1000rpm for better cooling.

There appears to be a problem with the fan controller. Corsair have acknowledged this and are/have shipped a kit to fix the problem.

It consists of some rubber mounts for the 200mm fans and a speed reducer cable for the fan controller. However some people have reported that this kit doesn't completely fix the buzzing fan problem.

They are apparently going to ship another version of the case with an updated fan controller the 650D-1.

If you use your own fan controller then you should be ok, if you use Noctua style resistor cable to reduce the fan speeds on the 200mm fans they have been reported to get very hot.

Why is it that when I find something I really like, I always find a problem with it. I suppose you could always use CM 200mm Megaflow fans with a fan controller.

I noticed the fan problem as soon as I turned on my obsidian. On the high setting there is no buzzing, but on the medium and low settings you can hear a slight buzz. It is slight, but it is very annoying. At medium speed, the buzzing is the most prevalent and so the medium setting is the most annoying. For the first two weeks that I had the case I just used the low and high settings, for normal use and gaming respectively. On the third week I ordered a fan controller, which eliminated the buzzing and as a result I was able to keep my rig virtually silent when using it for normal day-to-day activities and only barely noticeable when gaming.

The fan controller I use is the Scythe Kaze Master.

@yassarikhan786 - Thank you for the info. Bit annoying that such a nice case is spoilt by something so simple. At least its easily fixed.
