580 Twin Frozr II

Hi all i recently pre-ordered 7950 Twin Frozr III of aria. But it seams that MSI are not going to be releasing the card any time soon. So i am in a bit of a dilemma, wait for the 7950 or same a bit of money and go for the GTX 580.

What do you guys think. I no the 580 is still a amazing card but should i wait for the 7950 to come out or even wait till Nvidia launch the 600 series of cards.

That 580 has a stock PCB...just the cooler is different. Better go for an aftermarket pcb like the GTX580 TFIII edition or just wait for those 7950 to come.

The 600 series aren't gonna be cheap.

I no there going to be expensive, but i want a card that can last for 2 years or so. i am looking to spend £400/500

Better wait then... For the brand. That's your choice if you go green or red. Nvidia are gonna be better but more expensive

I'd agree and say wait a couple of months and hopefully you'll have more options from AMD and Nvidia

What about the Gigabyte Windforce 7950 OC?

It's a non reference card with a factory overclock. The windforce cards are know to be good overclockers as well as the cooler being good, not as good as the TFIII, but about the next best.

Only down side is the blue pcb

Sieb coming thru again with the best compromise... This card looks beast! For some reason I like the blue PCB... Might be by myself there.

You said it's not coming out anytime soon, implying that you were thinking about waiting until it did eventually come out. The Aria website said the product has been discontinued...as in. They have stopped making it. That's why I asked whether you got it...before it got discontinued.

What fan speed is your 580 at?

When folding it goes to 100% at 3000 odd RPM and even then it is not loud by any means. The Hyper 212+ fan is much, much louder at 60 - 70%
