5760x1080 - GTX 770 or 770 SLI or 780

I currently have a GTX 670 DCUII right now and it's going to be going to my brother's rig in a couple of weeks.
I have also just bought 3 LG EA63V ('Bezel less' IPS screens)
Im hoping to use all 3 monitors for multi windowing, you know many windows open...
But also for gaming, mainly FPS, BF3 in particular.

Budget is literally from (like the title) a price of a single 770(£360) to SLI 770 (£720)

My thinking was with a resolution of 5760x1080, and a 770 with only 2GB of VRAM and even if put in SLI (im a noob at SLI info) I believe it wont stack, say 4GB of VRAM.
So would a single 780 with 3GB of VRAM be sufficient?

Right now, if this was scored it'd be 0-1-1 which doesn't really help on the choosing process

Another info I forgot to mention. I will be watercooling, but ONLY one card. WC two will be far too expensive haha,
With that info, Watercooled 780/770 or Aircooled SLI 770?

Battlefield 3 isn't all that demanding anyway, tbh. You could spend the rest of the budget on a CPU upgrade (and maybe some RAM too) *stares at your siggy*

I guess you didn't see the 'Big changes are coming '
That sig has not been updated YET due to the fact that I want to make a project log and changed it at the same time but I haven't gotten round on making it yet
So a leak if you like from my upcoming project log, I now have a 4770k

I think with a single 780, you won't be near to maxing bf3 so the 3gb is pointless.

At that res, you'll need 2 770's to get decent framerates, but you won't be able to bump up the AA because of the VRAM.

At the end of the day, 2x770 is more powerful than 1x780. And at 3x1080p, I personally think you'll be grateful for the extra power.

If he does get one 780 now he can always get a second one. Especially when he saves some money on not watercooling the GPU cause let's be honest; one watercooled GPU and one air cooled one in the same rig just looks ridiculous.

So far, right this moment, im swinging towards the 780 due to the fact that i could always get another and WC two cards right now by going SLI 770 is just too much for the moment.

Tbf, if you can settle with a CPU only loop for now you'll already save yourself the cost of a GPU block, some fittings and an extra rad. Then it's time to save up for another one :lol:

Just to make your life a bit harder: What about SLI 770 4GB versions?

Why not get two 4GB GTX680's especially if your water cooling?

And I was concerned if my two GTX780's had enough VRAM for 5760, SLI 2GB cards are pointless and basically not an option IMO.

Despite the compelling logic behind 4GB of vRam, I've yet to see a comparitive review where 4GB 680s outperform 2GB 680s in SLI at 5760x1080 by any useful margin. Indeed, the GTX690, with its 2GB per GPU, still outperforms the Titan by a reasonable margin in every 5760 test I've read. And several site have published good data on this. As a pair of 2GB 770s would perform better than either of the setups mentioned above, one can only deduce that they would serve serve the Titan it's bottom while still coming in at a couple of quid under the £600 budget. Despite being "only" 2GB, I can't think of a better alternative for 5760 for that price until AMD get their XFire bugs sorted once and for all.
