Is there gonna be a big performance gap between the ATI 1800XT & 512mb 78TGX?
Surly the gtx is just like an overclocked standard gtx so if you where to o'clock the 1800xt they would be the better performer.
Plus as the gtx is running such extream clocks and the fact that its a 512 card which means more chance of a bad ram module, these wont o'clock much more than how they come out the box.
I am about to upgrade my 68gt to one of these puppies, basically what is the best? A show of hands please.

Early reports say all current games tested the 256MB GTX, 512MB X1800XT and the 512MB GTX - the 512MB GTX came out on top easily.
The qaulity of the ram used bu Nvidia and ATI is such that there is suffcicient overclocking headroom for both cards (with the right cooling).

So Mav and Scorchio have decided to wait for general stock to be released to make the price a much more acceptable amount (I was prepared for about £430ea but hoped a £400 release price).
As it stands the best comes at a very hefty price and GPU's have gotten more expensive over the past two years than I ever thought was possible.
