basically would 8gb of ram help me in games like assassins creed and gta 4 as them game are quite sloppy on my pc
8gb is the sweet spot atm and as ram is so damn cheap there is no reason not to go with it
He's not asking if he is to buy 4 or 8. I think he has 4gb and wants to upgrade.
Have you checked resource manager while in game to see what memory you're using. Also what are the specs of the PC.
Quoted from the asus page for mobo:
2 x DIMM, Max. 4 GB, DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
IMO, you'd be better off upgrading your motherboard to access better ram speeds / quantities,
as the ddr2 is holding you back slightly especially on modern(ish) games
Best idea.Have you checked resource manager while in game to see what memory you're using. Also what are the specs of the PC.
That is rediculous. If this is the case for you, I suggest kicking Chrome into touch.Sod the gaming - I don't think I would be able to surf the web etc. on just 4gb of RAM. Chrome munches RAM for me like no other...
Disagree. Agree with the new rig sentiments tho....as the ddr2 is holding you back slightly especially on modern(ish) games
imo save up some money and get a new rig...
my specs are pretty similar to yours and i would´t put another penny into my rig![]()
