4870 X2 Retention Screws

I juz purcahse a used 4870 x2 watercooled by danger dan cooler from ebay 144. i managed to get the two stock coolers for $20 because i am not water cooling fanatic and wanna use the air cooler instead. my problem is that the retention screws holding down the retention bracket wasnt included and i need the 8 tiny screws. the screws used for the danger dan werent compatible with the stock coolers.

my question is were can i find them(8 tiny screws holdin the two X brackets down) and if any body knows the specific size and dimension of the screws...thanx

It may be very difficult for you to find those screws. Personal I would just ditch the stock cooler and find a suitable aftermarket one. Maybe if you take a trip down to the hardware store you may be able to find some thing comparable to the originals?

I figure perhaps another cooler or hardware store.

whichever cooler you buy, you NEED the 8 screws, they are all not included with ANY aftermarket cooler

only think i can suggest is contacting amd/ati and seeing what you can do, otherwise buy a fried gfx...

Personally, I'd forget about the thread into the X plates. Just goto a hardware/diy store and get 8x nut & bolt pairings that will go through the holes, missing the threads completely.

Just be sure to put them on evenly and not bolt one on tightly at a time.

I dont know what coolers you have been buying but all the aftermarket gpu coolers ive brought have all came with all screws needed.

To the OP if you want to just buy the screws if i remember correctly standard m2 counter sunk screws work a charm, 8mm i beleave... (had to replace 2 lost screws from a friends 4870x2 last year)

Another option would be to pick up an artic cooling accelero xtreme 4870x2 off of ebay, from memory there about £50 on the uk ebay, if your from the us or elsewere im sure you could pick one up on ebay aswell.
