480mm Radiator Shortage?

Good Evening Everyone

So for the last few weeks I've been looking for 480mm Quad Radiators for my new 900D and have found myself thinking either these size radiators are either extremely popular or there might actually be some sort of slow down in production maybe even Discontinuation of these size radiators.

EKWB for instance as of writing this they have been without their CoolStream XT 480's since the 21st of August, this has wound me up since I'm Two 480's away from completion so I tried SCAN (they've come through in the Clutch for me before) Same situation they've been without since, well I don't know but it's been long enough for them to stop listing EK CoolStream XT 480 all together.

Alphacool are another company that might be having Production or Supply problems on their NeXXos ST45 480's. Scan are listing that they have been overdue since 05 June 2013. but are still taking Pre-Orders this struck me as odd. 2 months overdue and still taking orders?

Anyway I understand that was very long and probably some of the worst grammer to be used on the internet.

So can anyone shed any light on this why the radiator shortage?

Scan isn't the best company for watercooling to be honest, although they are my favourite for general hardware/peripherals.

Try SpecialTech, dedicated to cooling pretty much

I don't know what thickness you want, but here's 3 60mm ones:

and I'd personally recommend the Phobya G-Changer series of radiators. ST is also a fantastic company customer service and delivery wise in my experience.

it is the same here in the states as well. ebb and flow of 480 any brand. i sold to a
waiting customer (5mo waiting list) 2 of my Alphacool UT60 480 radiators. since the
release of the 900D, the 480 radiators were meh and now its the new black. dual
and triple 480 radiators are being a acceptable commodity. 480 acceptable cases
are easier to get, use and equip and the rad manufacturers are behind production.
now with newer cases having ability of 480 rads used, the supply and demand will
be strong. look to see them increase in price by 5-10%, as eventually, the demand
will plane out, unless case manufacturers lower these types of case pricing and
the market will erupt, again.

i was looking for a 480 myself about two months ago. not even alphacool sell them on their website for some reason. i just didn't get one

I tried special-tech again I'm going to be looking for 45mm radiators so I can comfortably PUSH/PULL.

after checking special-tech again found some ST45's from Alphacool wanted to make the entire loop EKWB and theat might be possible in the future but as it stands right now.

push pull is no problem with a 60mm rad in the bottom. got a 360 down there

I have 360 coolstream XT at the moment that has been great I intent to use it in the bottom of my 900D on the power supply side since I have and AX850 it has enough clearance to go in the slot and since it's a Year Old I don't want to just chuck it out

XT 360 with Coolermaster Sicleflow Fans at full speed = cold CPU/MOBO/MOSFET/RAM and that was with just 1 set on PULL in a 650D

IMO you are better off with a thicker rad and only 1 set of fans but if you want the extra set of fans then by all means go for it. Just more noise and barely an improvement in temps.

there is even some fleebay seller selling Alphacool radiator knock-offs in ST/XT/UT/MONSTA 240/360/480 sizes, too. but they have not "arrived" yet.. so a
slow boat trip is what most are waiting for.

OKAY I give up So apparently EK have a new line of MID Range Radiators on release these seem to be in stock and available THE EK CoolStream PE (which sounds like a medicine you take for painful urination) but whatever stupid name aside 40mm thick and UNC 6-32 Bolts (not M3/M4?)

Did I read that right, the rads are 38fpi?
They say high and low airflow, but at 38fpi I find the 'low' bit hard to believe. Still maybe they've come up with something fancy...

Technically low airflow is possible.. static pressure just needs to be very high. Also i believe those rads use thinner fins(about 50% i think?) so it's not as bad as it sounds but still high. It would be like 18-20Fpi compared to an EX rad with 11FPI, just one will run cooler at higher fan speeds.

so I ask this in the vain hope of getting mine soon and I know that peoples fan choice will be different from mine i'm running Coolermaster Sickleflows 2200rpm I don't wfans that run at a ridiculous 21db ant to spend another 100+ on the corsair SP/AF fans for 2 of these 480 monsters I should be okay with the current fans I have since they have the speed necessary to move the air through the fin maze in Coolstream PE's right?
