4770k overclocking. Should I push further.

Hey everyone. I have been my 4770k this morning after receiving my Hyper 212 Evo last night. I'm totally stable at 4.5ghz with 1.22v on the vcore.
I wondering if y'all think I should stick with that or push further. I'm using the Gigabyte Z87 OC board if anyone is wondering. I'm very happy with my temps and if I wont get more performance in games with another 100 or 200 mhz I don't want to raise the temps for no reason. Thoughts?

+100MHz wont do anything in games, especially while using a 660ti.
The gpu will likely be at its full utilisation while the cpu doesnt break a sweat.

IMO the temps on 80s are a tad high, but to each his own.

It's averaging at like low 70's though. Isn't that the temp I would look at not max? And isn't like 85 max you want to go in Aida? Also, I do live stream so do you think the 100-200 mhz would help with encoding?

Temps while gaming are more important yes, the cpu is most likely never at full load; 70s are ok.

When you stream, take a look at taskmanager and see how the cores are used, if its getting too high, yeah overclock a little more.
If its bouncing aroung 50-60% leave it as it is.

If youre looking for the last possible MHz, why did you buy the "small" EVO cooler ?
On something more potent youd run quite a bit cooler and maybe could go a little further.

Use OCCT put it in linpack mode and 90% free memory.

Click AVX compatable....... Cry.

Aida benchmark isnt great for stressing your cpu at all IMHO thats why we dont bother with it.

I also agree with above, the Evo cooler isnt great for big clocks, I see it as an upgrade from the stock cooler, deffo not something for big clocks

Alrighty, I just got it until I can afford a new case and NH-D14. I only used Aida because intel were saying it was what they recommended to test with. Not sure if it was just some shameless promotion or what. Not to mention Linus seemed to agree with them in his OCing video.

Consider delidding if you're up to it. It's the cheapest way to get massive headroom for your haswell. But as Kyze mention, you don't need to worry about overclocking for gaming performance when the 660ti is still the limiting factor even at stock 4770k clocks.
