4770K Delidding Video from Tom, Release date ?

Roughly when can we expect the delidding video for the 4770K, Would love to do this but a video guide would be great

It's just the same as Delidding a 3770K, just watch one of those videos. The vice method seems to be the easiest.

I'm not sure if somebody as influential as Tom should show this technique... Last thing he would want is inexperienced peeps wrekking there brand new haswell cpu's ...

There are many delidding videos of Ivy, the same methods apply to Haswell, I still don't have the balls to do it my 4670k :mellow:

someone posted a picture on here it's almost the same but there are pins sticking up under the lid you have to watch out for.

Some Haswell delid photos (not mine) showing it is the same as Ivy in the vice, but be with a blade be extra careful as there is some extra pins.

It's exactly the same as Ivy except for the extra contacts next to the cores. There's a great thread already on here about de-lidding Ivy if you have a search

Was just curious as I wouldn't mind doing it but discovering that there are extra pins on the pcb compared to ivy I'm a bit put off just incase some TIM drips onto them and shorts them out

Apply the right amount and with a brush, you'll have nothing to worry about. If you are still put off then use non conductive stuff. Go to 13:00 of this video (it is Ivy) to see what I mean about the right amount and using a brush

I'm with you, I don't have the balls to do it to my 3770K lolol. If I did a badass custom loop I probably would, but I won't be doing that any time in the next 2 years so that can wait haha.
