4770K Delid, Cool Lab Ultra or IC Diamond ?

About to delid my 4770K and was wondering which TIM to go for, Heard good things about both but I'm unsure so need the communitys help :)

Would also like to know this as I've just read a few horror storys regarding Cool lab ultra :(

Yeah, I wouldn't be using IC Diamond on a naked die tbh.
99% chance it won't actually do any harm, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

What horror stories exactly have you heard with CLP/CLU?

Mainly storys of it shorting out the VRM's on the 4770K or drying up so I'm trying to get as much info as to which TIM to use for the delid.

i would probably use some non-conductive paste because under the lid you can't check like you can on the top before you power on.

If you're careful putting on CLP/CLU then you won't have any problems. you need to do it properly with a cotton swab or something, rather than putting a blob in the middle and letting the IHS spread it out.
If you do it like that, you won't have any problems.

I personally prefer non conductive TIM. I killed my i5 3570k with CLP once, not gonna risk using it on cpu die again. Not because the TIM is bad or anything, just in case I do another sloppy job in spreading the TIM.
