3770K + GTX 680 clocks or what?

Hi chaps,

I have a few questions regarding my rig, I want to optimize the best balance of performance between my 680 and 3770k.

So to keep this straight I'll list the questions and hopefully you lovely ladies can help me out

  • I'm an old AMD customer so I'm fairly new to the whole OC scene with the IB processors. When overclocking my 3770k is the Vcore the only setting I need to change with regards to the clock speed. I'm not too familiar with V Droop (Although I know what it does) and all the other LLC gibberish and whatnot...
  • As far as balancing the performance out, what clock do you think would hit the sweet spot with my GTX 680. 680 is running 1.3Ghz GPU and 4.2Ghz on the 3770k.
  • Also, this is somewhat off-topic for this section however I may as well add it in anyway. I'd like to push my 680 to 1.4/1.5Ghz, do you think I'll need water cooling? Temps currently max out at 69c
  • Is there a way to disable the throttling on the 680 at 70c?
That's about it, would appreciate some answers. Thx guys!

an i5 3470 hits the ''sweet spot'' with your 680.no matter at what clocks the card runs(no bottleneck i mean).4Ghz+ on that i7 can pair with SLI 680s

I have a i7 3770k and a GTX680 there are no bottlenecking they work wonders.

Is your GPU a non reference or a reference card? If its a reference card you won't be able to push it that much than a non reference card.
