3500+ CPU Cooler

I'm using the Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC on my o/c'd 3500 Venice.

I've been amazed how good it is having previously used full copper Thermalright's on my socket A rigs. The AC is virtually free (well £5.50+VAT!! from OcUK), pretty much silent, relatively light, and despite all of this it's a very good performer: Idle mid 30's, load around 50 (bear in mid that this is a 'silent' PC without 3000CFM of case fans). If you don't want a thermally controlled fan that version costs £4.95+VAT!

BTW, ignore the OcUK site where it says they are S754, they are rated for S939 too. I guess OcUK would rather sell you a £20 cooler....

cool cheers for that JerryUK !

what kind of Overclock you got on your proc??

It's at 225x11=2475Mhz with the memory on 1:1. HT set to 4x.

My CPU is unfortately not very good. Whilist I didn't spend ages setting this O/C up, I noticed that the CPU max'd out very early even with the memory turned right down.

Bit disappointing really, I hoped to get quite a bit more. Good thing I hadn't gone mad buying fancy ram. I was actually surprised how quick my standard Crucial stuff (1GB) handled, I think it went up to 250ish okay.

Actually idling at 37C at the moment, though remember the fan is thermally controlled on my one - running at 1250rpm. A full speed fan would produce a lower result.

fan should be working hard because you sould be folding for us ;)

Ofcourse ;)

- i wacked Q-fan on and the fan kept spinning up and slowing down all the time it was wierd any way i fan has had pretty intense use since it was first turned on back in march :P prob been on 70-80% of the time since then :D

my pc has a high milage :D

lol - well id like a superflower but not sure how well one of them would overclock. I just need to find a low profile passive chipset cooler :P my artice cooler goes over my chipset fan atm

heres an old pic with the original chipset cooler before i put the new asus revision on.

Ah the A8N-SLI Deluxe... I should be getting my replacement fan in a week or two... In the mean time, I rigged another 40mm fan on it. I like my board except for those damn vcore fluctuations and the annoying fact that it registers my 12v rail wrong :D

when my old one failed i just ran it with the heatsink on and the fan not spinning. Hasnt caused any damage to the board. the Replacement fan is slightly quieter but now mine is making noises just like my old one did and it remains to be the loudest part of my computer!
